You should be extremely passionate about environmental law, compliance and management systems. Your role and work will contribute to increased respect for environmental law and higher compliance rates at major corporations in manufacturing, shipping, mining and other industries in Canada, the United States and abroad.
Location: Montréal, possible to work remotely as well.
Your role will be to help to keep the EHS Tracker website up-to-date. We provide information on upcoming and current environmental, health, and safety legislation in Canada and the United States. Mainstream canadian businesses subscribe to the site and require consistent, well-written text on the laws and regulations at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels. You may also have the opportunity to work in semantic markup, intelligent parsing and other research and development.
You will be responsible for reading government gazettes and other government websites and writing short updates in plain language, organizing laws, regulations, by-laws and other information. You will be responsible for updating existing plain language text on environmental, health and safety legislation in Canada and the United States. You will also be responsible for creating comprehensive compliance audit protocols in multiple jurisdictions and publishing them on Nimonik’s platform.
Excellent writing skills in English and ideally in French as well. Basic understanding of Canadian and US environmental law and a passion for learning legal requirements in detail. Aptitude with computer technology and interest in using technology is essential.
You should have experience in environmental compliance, health and safety compliance or environmental policy. You should have an understanding of environmental law and environmental management systems. 0-5 years experience in any of these fields is suggested. The key requirement is a willingness to work hard and learn about environmental law. You should be a canadian citizen or permanent resident or have a work visa.
